Biography

I am a Senior Applied Scientist at JD Technology Silicon Vally, I am working on multimodal learning and content creation. Drive research directions and deliver AI products.

Before joining JD Digits I joined Carnegie Mellon University as a PhD student in 2014 fall, co-adviased by Prof. Ming Li and Prof Bhiksha Raj. I obtained both my B.Eng. and M.S. degree from School of Electronic and Information Engineering, South China University of Technology. Between Feb. 2012 and Jun. 2012, I was an exchange student at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.

Research Interest

My research interests mainly focus on deep learning, computer vision, and multimodal learning, with applications to speech processing, human behavior analysis and content creation (digital human and automatic video composition). I am working on digital human and automatic online video composition platform in JD Digits, you can find the interesting demos at Project and Demos page. My PhD research seeks to address the challenging problem of analyzing children behavior through multiple modalities with machine learning, which may potentially benefit medical applications such as child autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis and psychology study. Previously I also worked on speaker verification and unsupervised learning problems.
